Community Contributors

The current engagement has become possible owing to a vast network of about 150 partner organisations that we have been working with. In order to address the traditional civil society and academic hegemony over data gathering processes, the COLLECT initiative is capacitating community and worker led organisations and collectives as well as community based research fellows across 100 districts to collect information on a real time basis and use that for local advocacy to realise immediate relief and entitlements. These community led organisations (CLOs) are typically led by those hailing from marginalised communities themselves (Dalit, Adivasi, Transgender, Denotified Tribe and Muslims) and from initiatives that have been impacted by funding and budget cuts, are currently struggling to retain some of their projects give several uncertainties with donor organisations and lack of visibility on continuance of their pre-COVID field operations and projects.
